Foodie # : > Japanese Ala-Carte Menu > Zanmai Sushi Suria Sabah

Happy Blessed Birthday to my Soulmate Bridget!!
I didn't know I was supposed to be the secret and surprise guest for today's event.
So just an hour before the dinner, I blew my identity to the birthday girl. LOL.

Law had make a table reservation for three in Zanmai Sushi Suria Sabah today.
And thank goodness for him, I finally got the chance to come and try out the Japanese food here.
Because ever since this restaurant had officially opened, it's always full house!
Never failed to got me curious whether the food here really taste that good or not.

As usual, the place is full house when I arrived.
With the friendly and active working employees who entertained me at the entrance, I found Law and Bridget's table in a split second.

Their menu is almost similar with Sushi Tei, the pricing as well.

I've order myself a Garlic Fried Rice.
I am actually not a fan of this at all, but ever since Oily let me have a taste of it back in Nishiki,
It was actually quite delicious and fragrant.
And after that, I would on and off ask for it, depending on my english mood that is. HAHAHA.

For the Garlic Fried Rice in Zanmai Sushi, it just tasted so-so only for me.

If you knew me well, this is something I cannot missed out in any Japanese Restaurant. HAHAHA.
Salmon Sahimi
But, ever since I had bad experiences with sashimi few months ago, I am extremely picky in places where I will order for Sashimi.
If I'm not confident with the standard of the restaurant, I wont even considering to order at all.

Zanmai Sushi is still consider fine with it, just that the flesh was somewhat so thinly sliced.
And the fish was not that fresh.

The last menu I picked was Agedashi Tofu.
This was also one of Oily's favourite menu.
But then, Zanmai Sushi's version is also a so-so for me.

After dinner, it was time for the presentation of the birthday cake :)
We were so anxious to get the cake out as soon as possible since the shop is closing soon and Bridget seems like hinting Law to pay for the bills already.

Then, all of a sudden every staffs in Zanmai Sushi were shouting when they sing the Birthday Song.
All three of us were shocked we actually jumped from our seats! HAHAHA.
Me and Law were laughing uncontrollably because of the funny presentation and the fact that they were emphasizing the song by shouting.

We lost our laughter when the staff put the ice cream cake down in front of us.
The cake had already partially melted and it actually spoiled the beauty of the cake, geez.
Without further delay, we hurried insert the candle and go through with all the traditional birthday girl procedures. HAHAHA.

Believe it or not, these photos were taken in a rushing manner.
Just because the burning candle will further on assist in melting the ice cream,
we were forced to do everything in one go.

Bad freezer experience :(
I purposely came early to put the cake into Zanmai Sushi's freezer at 1pm today,
just so we can have the cake as a surprise presentation for tonight's event.
But we didn't expected that their freezer is not in a good performance.

Spoiled our mood at the end of the day because the cake melted everywhere and we were forced to cut the cake into little melted pieces and store into smaller container boxes to be brought home. Crapz.

One thing that cheered our hearts is.... Bridget didn't saw that surprise cake coming her way.
So.... we still manage to pull off a little surprise for her!
and super thanks to the sporting and bubbly working staffs of Zanmai Sushi for their super loud live Birthday Song broadcast.
And that concludes plus put a full stop to today's event.
I've made a photo collage of Bridget's birthday for the past 5 years.
Ever since she came back to KK, we celebrated her birthday every year without miss :)
And I still want to continue counting the number of birthday years together with her in the future :)
