Movie # : Big Hero 6

This is a really old movie, but believe me....
No matter how famous it was, I have never watched it before.

All thanks to Bee for bringing me the DVD tonight,
That I finally get to sit down and watch the movie "Big Hero 6",
Which was released back in 7th November 2014.

Only started the first 10 minutes and I already felt that this is a good animation movie.
The awesome graphics, character design and superb technologies storyline instantly caught my attention.
And I seriously cannot believe I had never watched it 2 years ago.

After watching the movie half way, I was so curious why they named it Big Hero 6,
Like why is it have to be the number 6 at the back?
Towards the second part of the story,
Only then I realized it's because they actually have six different characters for the superhero part.

And oh guess what! The voice casting for Tadashi is Daniel Henney!!
One of the hottest man on my list, like awwwww!!
I didn't even realized at all throughout the whole movie.
One thing I love about this movie was the background scene,
If you have noticed, it's actually a mixture of Tokyo and San Francisco.
I really salute the idea of combining both the cities and turning it into a beautiful fusion.
Not failing to trigger my travelling cells and moods as well!

And for the first time in years,
I actually cried at the ending of an animation movie when Baymax sacrifices himself to save the girl.
I remembered the last time I cried while watching an animation was probably few years back,
During the movie "Wall-E" or "Up" I cannot exactly remembered.
But I do always cried in watching real human movies, it was just super rare for animation. LOL.

Anyway, it's a 5/5 rate from me :)

Determined to uncover the mystery, Hiro transforms his friends into a band of high-tech heroes called "Big Hero 6".

Movie # : Zootopia

I've been wanted to watch this animation few months back when it was just released.
But the fact that I was busy with stuffs, and that my schedule always got clashed with my friends' schedules.
So yeah, in the end I missed it.

Since Bee is having dinner at my house tonight,
We decided to watch this after the dinner.

"Zootopia" is on our movie list today,
The movie was released on 4th March 2016.

I freakin loveeeee the rookie bunny cop Judy Hopps, who happens to be the main female character.
It was a very interesting movie with very inspirational and motivating storyline.
Highlighting all the MAIN issues in our daily society lives nowadays,
From the political structures and power level in the working environment,
To the friendship and racial discrimination.

I give it a 5/5 rate for this animation.
What more would you expect from a Disney animation right? Haha.

I must say I am totally in love with the OST of this movie.
It was a song by Shakira, one of my goddess idol. LOL!
From the name of the song itself - "Try Everything", you can already know how powerful and motivating the song is!

Both the melody and lyrics are just plain awesome :)

From the largest elephant to the smallest shrew, the city of Zootopia is a mammal metropolis where various animals live and thrive. When Judy Hopps becomes the first rabbit to join the police force, she quickly learns how tough it is to enforce the law. Determined to prove herself, Judy jumps at the opportunity to solve a mysterious case. Unfortunately, that means working with Nick Wilde, a wily fox who makes her job even harder.

Movie # : Independence Day : Resurgence

It's been ages since I last watched movie with Oily.
Initially we were planning to visit Huawei Centre,
But since it wasn't opened yet when we arrived, we randomly decided to go for a movie first.

Oily picked "Independence Day : Resurgence"
Which was just released today, 24th June 2016.

It's actually a linked story from the first one which was released back in the year of 1996.
I never watch the first movie before,
But Oily said it was very good, plus the main character was Will Smith,
He played the character really well.

This second movie continues the story where Will Smith's character's son takes over the lead to fight the invasion of the aliens.
I like Liam Hemsworth's character a lot, probably because he is Chris Hemsworth's younger brother,
You know how HOT Thor is right? HAHAHA.
And the fact that his long distance relationship story kinda reflects to what I am going through in real life.
I totally feel them. LOL.

I'll give it a 4/5 rate for this movie.
The storyline was okay, it's just that I don't really like certain parts in the movie,
Where no matter how the main heroes were being shot with any laser guns or being chased like hell,
They still manage to evade it like magic and can never get hit. LOL.
And the fact that the professors and team leaders can come up with a perfect one hit KO plan for the turn-around, I am totally not amused with it. LOL.
Computer graphics are awesome to me though.
So yeah, the high-class anti-gravity technologies really impresses me,
It actually got me wondered can it really work in our real world.

Two decades after the freak alien invasion that nearly destroyed mankind a new threat emerges. This Alien mothership is more than twice the size as the last one and once again, the world's armise must band together to save the world. Do they have enough firepower or will this battle change and will aliens take over?

Movie # : The Angry Birds Movie

Ok. Seriously. I am not a fan of animation movie.
I decided to watch this one as just to return a favor for Bee.

Bee loves Bird a lot. She even named herself Bird Lim in her real life.
Angry Bird happens to be one of her favorite thing on her list.
Guess the Angry Bird game could be her favorite as well back then when it's a hot cake.
And now, she couldn't have missed the movie when it's out.

Yes. Today we have chosen the movie "The Angry Birds Movie",
Which has just been released, today is actually the premiere in local cinemas, LOL.

Guess what kind of pure luck do we have,
We actually bump right into our manager and his girlfriend in front of the cinema ticketing counter.
The situation is a bit funny when he is trying his best to find out which movie are we going to watch.
We didn't intend to inform him about it so we just decided to run away in the end. LOL!

Anyway, the movie is only so-so to me,
As I think it's more suitable for kids and children.
But Bee is having a fun time laughing the whole night out. She is a total big kid the whole time.
She even told me to unwind my locks, and be an innocent kid and enjoy the fun.
Hmmm nah... I just couldn't.
But there is one part in the middle of the movie that I actually laughed my lungs out. LOL.
The part where Chuck and Bomb are swimming and drinking from a urine river. HAHAHA!

This movie gets a 2/5 rate from me.
Sorry to all the animation fans, this is just not my type of movie.
But I gotta admit during the last part of the movie,
Where the birds are up to rescuing the eggs by attacking the piggies' castles,
It was darn cute that it reminds me a lot of the Angry Bird game. LOL

= Movie Trailer =

= Movie's Storyline taken from IMDB =

In the 3D animated comedy, The Angry Birds Movie, we'll finally find out why the birds are so angry. The movie takes us to an island populated entirely by happy, flightless birds - or almost entirely. In this paradise, Red, a bird with a temper problem, speedy Chuck, and the volatile Bomb have always been outsiders. But when the island is visited by mysterious green piggies, it's up to these unlikely outcasts to figure out what the pigs are up to.

Recipe #13 : Korean Japchae

Once in a month I would have extreme food cravings,
And it's odd that today I suddenly crave of Japchae. LOL.
And when it's Sunday, I usually have the urge to step into the kitchen.
This is when I should cook myself to satisfy my own craving. Haha.

I didn't really study and compare Japchae's recipe this time like I usually would.
I just simply watch one Youtube cooking video and I came up with my own ingredients and measurements.
Speaking of trying to act like a pro! HAHAHA!

Ingredients :
dried shiitake mushrooms
black fungus
small carrot
egg
green onions
castor sugar
light soy sauce
sesame oil
dangmyeon (sweet potato starch noodles)
salt
vegetable oil

Directions :
1) Soak the shiitake mushroom and black fungus for 2 hours, then cut them into thin strips.
2) Slice carrot and green onions into thin strips as well and set aside.
3) Crack the egg and beat in a pinch of salt with a fork.
4) Add 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil to a heated non-stick pan. Swirl the oil around and make sure that it covers the whole surface of the pan.
5) Pour the beaten egg mixture into the pan and tilt it around so the mixture spreads evenly thinly.
6) Turn off the heat and let it cook using the remaining heat in the pan for about 1 minute. Flip it over and let it sit on the pan for 1 more minute.
7) After the egg has been set to cool down, slice it into thin strips as well.
8) Heat up a skillet and add 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil. Stir-fry the green onion with a pinch of salt until the onions wither. Transfer to the mixing bowl.
9) Heat up the skillet again and add 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil. Stir-fry the shiitake mushroom and black fungus with a pinch of salt, until softened and a little juicy. Transfer to the mixing bowl.
10) Heat up the skillet and add 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil. Add the carrot and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes. Transfer to the mixing bowl.
11) Put the noodles into the boiling water, cover and cook for 1 minute. Stir them with a wooden spoon so they don't stick together. Cover and keep cooking for approximately another 7 minutes until the noodles are soft and chewy.
12) Strain and cut them a few times with kitchen scissors or knife. Rinse the noodles with cold water to stop the cooking process.
13) Put the noodles into the mixing bowl as well next to all the other ingredients.
14) Add sesame oil, light soy sauce and sugar according to your own preferences together. Mix well by hand or a wooden spoon.
15) Add the egg garnish and continue for a final mixing. Transfer it to a big plate and serve.

In the process of soaking the shiitake mushroom and black fungus.

And I actually had a hard time looking for this baby.
Due to the existing korean groceries shop being located far away from my house,
I have zero intention to head downtown just to get the dangmyeon.
I tried my luck in two of the largest supermarkets nearby my house,
And all they offered were similar products originated from China.

I wasn't amused and convinced by it,
So I keep ended up driving even further.
Good thing I stop-by at The Peak's City Gourmet.
And eventually save me from driving so far downtown,
When I saw this Korea made dangmyeon seated nicely on the rack.
** Finally satisfied ** HAHAHA!

This is what my final product looked like.
I was so hungry the whole time I actually forgotten to add in my egg at the end.
I only remembered about it after finishing my food. HAHAHA.

I couldn't say this is the perfect Japchae that I have made,
Because there is somehow either that missing ingredient or a missing taste that I cannot seemed to comment.
I only know that my odd craving has been solved. LOL.
Shall attempt to cook for Oily next time and let him be the judge.

Original recipe also suggested ingredients such as garlic, toasted sesame seeds, spinach, onion, bell pepper, ground black pepper and even beef or pork meat.
It could differ accordingly to your desired taste,
So no worries, as you are in full control of what you would like to include into the cooking pan.

Drama # - The Innocent Man

Yes. I am one of the K-Drama fan who is currently drowned in the Song Joong Ki (SJK) fever.
And while I am waiting for the latest episode of Descendant Of The Sun (DOTS) to be released,
I need to soothe both my fever and my soul with another SJK drama. HAHAHA!

''The Innocent Man'' with a total of 20 episodes.
It was released in September 2012 and aired on KBS2.
Starring Song Joong Ki, Moon Chae Won and Park Si Yeon.

This is actually the second time I watch this drama.
Oily introduced this drama to me and I cannot believed he actually finished the whole drama in one go.
He is not a fan of melodrama and romance story,
He was only very much being attracted by SJK's drama character at that mean time.
I stopped at episode 8 when I attempted to watch it the first time.
Because the storyline is quite draggy and boring in front.

I still feel the same thing when I start watching it again now for the second time.
But I force myself to hold on until the end because my point is just to watch SJK's acting.
Not only it was draggy in front to me,
But then all the excess level of flashbacks and evil dramas start to kick in.
To be frank, this wasn't my type of drama at all.

In the end, I did finished watching the whole series though.
And to me, the best part only started from episode 15 until the end.
So, I am giving it a 2/5 stars rating.
I loved both Joong Ki and Chae Won in this drama, they made a great couple on screen.
